Abstract :
As early as 1998, INRIA researchers managed to have autonomous cars parallel-park, as these images show;
an experimental driverless electric vehicle succeeds in automatically parallel-parking between two vehicles then exiting its parking spot.
Equipped with ultrasonic sensors, the vehicle detects obstacles and reacts in real time. It dynamically processes information from its environment and builds a map to plan his maneuver. Any change in the environment is taken into account in the execution of the task.
