Abstract :
VUEMS aims at building a virtual model of real cities as realistic as possible, created from real map data for driving simulation applications.
In order to reproduce realistic behaviors of autonomous entities evolving in a synthetic city, it is necessary to construct, for each entity, a mental model of its environment. To do this, it is necessary to have other information than the only geometry of the said scene. Particularly in the case of driving simulation, the behavior of the driver depends on several types of information: the physical characteristics of the road, the topology of the road network, the rules of the road, road signs and if we place ourselves in an urban setting, the occultation.
Information of different types and levels of abstraction are structured and unified within the same model. In this film, we show all the capabilities of VUEMS, as well as the use of both types of generated data (geometric and tactical) within a simulation platform for driving simulation applications.
