Abstract :
On arriving at a crossroads, might it be possible to anticipate the arrival of a driver in a vehicle coming from the left, even before he enters your field of vision ? Might it also be possible to attach a radio system, with a range of around 100 metres, to each road sign at the crossroads, which could then communicate directly with the vehicles ? These are the questions being addressed by the various research teams in the CAPTIV project, which brings together researchers from the CAIRN project at INRIA and from France Telecom Bretagne.
